Compliance is not optional in Nepal
Any billing software you use in Nepal must handle VAT correctly according to IRD requirements. This means generating compliant invoices with the right tax calculation, supporting the fiscal year format, and producing reports that your auditor can work with. Non-compliant software creates tax filing problems that are expensive to fix after the fact.
Make sure the software you choose has been designed for Nepal's tax system — not just adapted from a foreign product where VAT has been bolted on.
Integration matters more than features
A billing system that doesn't talk to your accounting software means manual data entry. Manual data entry means errors and wasted time. When evaluating billing software, ask specifically how it integrates with your existing tools — your bank, your accounting system, your CRM.
The best billing software is the one that sits at the center of your financial workflow, not one that creates a parallel system your team has to maintain separately.
Questions to ask before you decide
Can it handle your invoice volume without slowing down? Does it support multiple currencies if you deal with international clients? How does it handle overdue payments and automated reminders? Can it generate the reports your finance team actually needs?
Also consider the practical side: how easy is it to train your team on, and what does customer support look like when something goes wrong? Software that's powerful but poorly supported creates its own problems.
